Emily Olson (she/her) is an advanced doctoral intern at Konick and Associates who provides comprehensive assessment and psychotherapy services to children 3+, adolescents, and adults. Emily earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Mississippi and is currently a fourth-year graduate student pursuing her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Northern Illinois University, with a focus on body dysmorphic disorder, anxiety disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
While working at the Psychological Services Center at Northern Illinois University, Emily has gained experience conducting psychological assessments and providing individual therapy services to clients across the lifespan. She has experience implementing evidence-based treatments such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and exposure-based interventions. Emily has also worked as a practicum clinician at an outpatient clinic specializing in children with selective mutism, separation anxiety, and other anxiety disorders. In this role, she conducted diagnostic evaluations and behavioral observations and developed treatment plans and recommendations to share during parent feedback sessions.
Emily is experienced in assessing and treating a wide range of presenting concerns and strives to provide compassionate, individualized care tailored to each client’s unique needs. She values building strong therapeutic relationships and creating a supportive environment that fosters growth and meaningful change. She is excited to continue developing her clinical skills through her work as an advanced doctoral intern at Konick and Associates.
Emily  is under the supervision of Dr. Kristen Suing.
