Shea Jones (she/her) is a Marriage and Family Therapist at Konick and Associates, where she provides therapeutic services to children ages 3+, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Shea first joined Konick and Associates as a clinical intern, and after completing her training, continued her journey with the practice as a therapist. Her experience within the Konick and Associates team has allowed her to build strong clinical skills while fostering meaningful connections with the individuals and families she serves.

Shea earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Sciences with an emphasis in Child Development from Northern Illinois University and her master’s degree in Applied Human Development and Family Sciences with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy at the same institution.

Certifications and Training:

  • Gottman Level 1 and 2
  • Attachment Theory
  • Family Systems

Shea approaches therapy from a systemic perspective, viewing individuals and families as emotionally interconnected units. Her clinical interests include contextual family therapy, play therapy, structural family therapy, and experiential therapy. She emphasizes the importance of understanding behavior within the context of relationships, environments, interactions, and family dynamics. Shea is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and collaborative space where clients can explore their challenges and build on their strengths, empowering them to become the experts in their own lives.

Originally from Orland Park, Illinois, Shea has long held a passion for working with children and families. Her background includes experience as a Registered Behavior Technician in ABA therapy, where she supported children with autism spectrum disorder through skill-building and behavior reduction plans. Shea also has extensive experience supporting children and families coping with medical illnesses, including cancer and serious medical diagnoses in youth. She served for three years as a psychosocial support provider at a summer camp for children with cancer and volunteered as a child life support provider at Advocate Children’s Hospital, offering bedside emotional support. Through these experiences, Shea provided emotional support for both the child and their caregivers throughout the treatment and adjustment process, helping families navigate the complex emotional terrain of illness, uncertainty, and recovery.

In addition, Shea worked as an assistant teacher in a childcare setting for two years, where she assessed developmental needs and created individualized curricula to foster growth and learning.

With training in the Gottman Method, attachment theory, and family systems, Shea provides support to couples, particularly those seeking to address communication difficulties, trust issues, and build emotional intimacy. Shea helps partners strengthen their emotional connection and develop healthier interaction patterns that promote understanding and resilience within the relationship.

As part of the Konick and Associates team, Shea is excited to continue growing as a clinician while deepening her work with individuals, couples, and families across all stages of life.

Shea is under the Supervision of Sandra Lukashevich, LCPC, NCC, Clinical Director.
