Valerie von Schlegell

Valerie von Schlegell (she/her) is a psychometrician at Konick and Associates.  Ms. von Schlegell is a certified School Psychologist who earned her Masters degree in School Psychology from Loyola University Chicago.  She has worked in school settings for over 25 years and comes with an expertise in working with children from diverse backgrounds and with complex challenges.  While her experience has primarily been with school-age children with academic and behavioral challenges, she has also worked with patients within the psychiatric hospital setting during her early training.

During her career, she has completed numerous evaluations of children with learning, cognitive, and emotional disabilities as well those on the autism spectrum using a variety of assessment tools including the ADOS.  Ms. von Schlegell understands the difficulties that children face, not only in their educational experiences but with their relationships and works to ensure their success in all aspects of their lives.  Her focus through the evaluation process is on gaining a comprehensive understanding of the individual in order to provide meaningful and actionable steps moving forward.  She believes this is achieved by creating a comfortable and compassionate environment as well as collaborating with those closest to the child.  Ms. von Schlegell is known as a patient, empathetic and creative problem-solver.  She is excited to be a part of the testing team at Konick and Associates!
