Shivam Desai (He/Him) is an advanced clinical psychology doctoral extern at Konick and Associates. He provides psychotherapy and comprehensive psychological assessment services to clients across the lifespan. Shivam is especially passionate about working with neurodivergent individuals and families navigating ADHD, trauma, autism, anxiety, depression, and other related concerns.

Shivam was born in Panama City and grew up in Texas and completed his undergraduate education at The University of Texas in Austin, where he studied Human Development and Family Science. He holds a master’s degree in counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. He is currently a fourth-year doctoral student in Clinical Psychology Psy.D. program at Wheaton College, with an emphasis in narrative identity and justice and peace collaboration.

His clinical training includes conducting family therapy and individual therapy in a non-profit and private practice setting and conducting neuropsychological assessment in a private practice setting. Shivam primarily works with adolescents and adults. As a neurodivergent clinician, Shivam draws from neurodiversity-affirming and strengths-based frameworks, integrating approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Somatic Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Shivam is committed to cultivating a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore life’s challenges and reconnect with their inherent strengths. He believes in the uniqueness of each person and works to honor and understand the cultural and contextual influences that shape their present experiences.

Shivam has a strong interest in neuropsychological assessment, with a focus on ADHD, autism, mood and personality disorders. He approaches assessment through a holistic biopsychosocial lens, integrating findings in a way that honors each client’s context while highlighting their strengths in guiding recommendations. In regards to therapy, Shivam is passionate about working with adolescents 16+ and adults navigating executive functioning challenges, and about walking alongside neurodiverse clients in a world that often does not accommodate their needs. He also works with adults with complex trauma, integrating mind and body approaches to foster holistic healing while helping clients build stronger interpersonal skills for navigating social relationships more effectively.

Shivam is under the supervision of Dr. Kristen Suing.
