Zachariah Tate Elam (he/him) is a diagnostic intern at Konick and Associates, providing therapy and assessment services to children, teens, and adults. Zachariah earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Lynchburg in Lynchburg, Virginia. He is a graduate student pursuing his Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Wheaton College with an emphasis on Neuropsychology.

From the age of 11, Zachariah Elam grew up in Lynchburg, Virginia, studying human behavior and beliefs through theatrical performances, later pursuing a degree in musical theatre in New York City. He decided that he had a calling towards helping people in a more individualistic setting and transitioned towards seeking a career in psychology. He later interned at Westminster Canterbury in Lynchburg, VA, as a Pastoral Care Intern, where he helped provide both spiritual and psychological services for people experiencing end-of-life care. He followed his internship with a Job at Centra Health in Bedford, VA, where he became a Registered Behavior Technician providing ABA services to children ages 4-12 with Autism and other Neurodevelopmental disorders in low-income, rural settings. Before attending Wheaton College, he also interned at Virginia Baptist Hospital in the Adult Psychiatric Unit, where he helped provide Cognitive Behavioral Group Therapy and Psychoeducation to individuals with Schizophrenia Spectrum Disorders, a proneness to violence, and Severe Mental Illness.

Zachariah uses evidence-based practices grounded in a mix of Cognitive Behavioral and Humanistic therapeutic approaches. He approaches his work with an eye towards collaboration with the individual and family to incorporate the individual’s strengths, weaknesses, and interests into the treatment plans. He also conducts neuropsychological assessments as a part of the diagnostic team.

Zachariah is supervised by Dr. Kristen Suing and Dr. Phillipe Kleefield.
